Shenzhen Metro Line 14 lighting design On October 28, 2022, Shenzhen Metro Line 14 was officially opened. As the first eastern line in the Shenzhen Metro Express network, Line 14 starts from Xiabai Junction in Futian District, passes Futian District, Luohu District and Longgang District, and ends at Shatin Station in Pingshan District, with a total length of 50.32km and 18 stations. The opening of Line 14 will effectively promote the improvement of traffic quality in the eastern part of Shenzhen. Gangxia North Comprehensive Transportation Hub is the largest single rail transit project in China, and also the first hub of Shenzhen Metro Express network. With the theme of “Shenzhen Eye”, it aims to create a rail transit hub station that not only reflects the humanistic care of Shenzhen, but also bears the characteristics of “convergence, inclusiveness and internationalization” of Shenzhen. After completion, passenger flow transfer between rail transit lines 2, 10, 11 and 14 will be realized.   Taking the core patio of the building as the cornerstone, the design team respects the language characteristics of the architectural space, extracts the streamline form of “sunlight divergence”, adopts the mathematical principle of “Fermat spiral”, enforces the visual tension of the space, and presents a simple and atmospheric spatial effect. Through the parametric adjustment of Fermat helix curvature, the design team designed the ceiling modeling scale of each space reasonably. In order to enhance the passenger experience and create a more open and humane space, the design team introduced warm colored materials in areas such as handrails, walls and floors to create a warm urban public space. The sun pours down from the skylight, and the originally dull and depressing underground space is as transparent and bright as the outdoor space. The atmosphere of warm, bright and comfortable space is created vividly.
